The theme of the art project is "Collection".
It came from an image that is colored by various "memories" we have collected while strolling in Tokyo.
Bank Bed Gallery is pleased to introduce works by artists who are based in Tokyo.
The art works as the "memories" can be traveled with you. We hope that you will find your favorite piece.

“My interests lie on connection between life and creation.
I’m also attracted to seasonal change or something related to wildness of our nature”.
Yuko Kanatani works on several media such as painting, collage,
animation or installation in order to pursue different ways of expression in various situations.
On this exhibition, collection of fragmented memory and city objects,
which were found in Asakusa area by strolling the streets, are incorporated in her installation to color
the gallery space with cheerful art pieces and reminiscent of spring.
「最近、生活ともの作りをつなげることに興味があります。
季節が移っていくことや、そういったことにまつわる野性にも惹かれています。」と話す金谷裕子。
ペインティングやコラージュ、アニメーション、インスタレーションなど、
自身の作品を展開する環境に合わせて様々な手法で精力的に作品を制作しています。
今回は、金谷が浅草周辺を歩いて見つけたものを作品に取り入れながら、
春の訪れを彷彿させるような色鮮やかで楽しい作品群が、Bank Bed Galleryを彩ります。

The work of Yuko Kanatani is steeped in a pop and psychedelic universe of a dazzling explosion of bright colors and repetitive patterns that join together and branch off into infinity. From personal exhibits to diverse collaborations, her “joyful” work is expressed through paintings, collages, animations, installations and workshops.
In 2014, a work collection "YXICOOO（Ikishiku-）" was published.
ペインティング、コラージュ、アニメーション、インスタレーションなど様々な手法で作品を制作し、展覧会などで発表している。また、ファッションブランドとのコラボレートや、ミュージシャンへのアートワークの提供、アウトドアフェスティバルやショーウィンドーでのインスタレーションの展開、ワークショップの開催など幅広く活動している。
2014年、作品集「YXICOOO(イキシクー)」を出版。
旅の途中。目にした風景、耳を澄ました鳥の声、どこか懐かしい花の匂い。
抱えきれないほどの思い出に囲まれて、心地良いひとときを過ごしていただきたい。

東京を散歩して集めてきた色々な「思い出」に彩られているイメージです。
